Sometimes, an image lacks that little something that makes it pop and it can’t get others to gasp in amazement when they see it. Image editing software can be of great help in such a situation, as it lets you modify an image and make it better. Sagelight is an easy to use and powerful image editing software application you could use to enhance your images.

The Sagelight installation file is of 20.5MB. A very straightforward setup wizard will help you get the application installed on your Windows computer once you run the installation file. Support is provided for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows editions from Windows 7 all the way back to Windows 2000.

A “Welcome to Sagelight” prompt shows up when you run the application. The prompt encourages you to use Sagelight to experiment and to use its many features to play with images and enhance their looks. Then it invites you to open an image file and get started. Do note that this prompt will show up every time you launch Sagelight, unless you check the “Don’t show this message again” option from the bottom left hand corner.

You can open an image from the handy “Open an Image” button presented right in the middle of Sagelight’s interface, or you can use the Open File option from the File menu in the upper left hand corner. Before letting you start to edit your image, Sagelight presents you with another prompt – this one presents the Quick Edit mode and tells you a bit about Sagelight’s capabilities, like auto balance and color spinner. In Quick Edit mode you can easily play with the colors, saturation, shadows, brightness, and more.

There’s an interesting Filters and Effects tab next to the Quick Edit Mode tab; it presents a list of various filters and effects you could use to enhance an image. Just select a filter or effect from the list, and it will be applied in real time.

Using Sagelight is a relatively simple process, assuming of course that you’ve used image editing applications before. If you have any problems understanding how the application works, there’s a Help file and there are video tutorials as well. You have 30 days to figure out how Sagelight works and assess its functionality for free. To keep using the application after the 30-day trial expires, you will have to get a license.

Ease of use, user friendliness, and a long list of powerful image editing features – Sagelight has all the elements to make it a must have tool for anyone who wants to enhance the looks of their images.

Pros

Works with 32 and 64-bit Windows editions. There’s a detailed Help file and there are some nice video tutorials. The Sagelight is easy to use and good looking. Once you open an image, Sagelight puts a lot of powerful tools at your disposal. Several examples of what you could achieve with Sagelight are presented on the application’s official page.

Cons

Sagelight can be used for free for a 30-day trial period.
